What we bake
One loaf, done properly
We would rather bake one thing well than five things adequately. This is the loaf.
Kamut Sandwich Loaf
An everyday loaf milled from organic Kamut khorasan wheat, mixed by hand and baked the morning of pickup. Naturally sweet and nutty with a tender crumb that slices clean for sandwiches and toast. Contains wheat (Kamut khorasan). Not gluten free.
The grain
Wheat, before we started changing it
Kamut is the brand name for khorasan, an ancient wheat that has never been hybridized or genetically modified and is always grown organically. The kernels are about three times the size of common wheat, and the flour they make is naturally sweet and nutty with a softer, more buttery crumb than the bread you are used to.
It also carries more protein, more fiber, and higher levels of polyphenols and carotenoids than modern wheat. Plenty of people who feel bloated and heavy after ordinary bread find they do fine with this one.
Kamut khorasan is wheat and contains gluten — it is not safe for celiac disease, and nothing here is medical advice.

Questions people ask
Is Kamut gluten free?
No. Kamut khorasan is a form of wheat and contains gluten, so it is not safe for anyone with celiac disease. Some people who feel sensitive to modern wheat report that they tolerate it better, but that is personal experience, not medical advice — if you have a diagnosed condition, talk to your doctor.
How long does it stay fresh?
It is real bread with no preservatives. Two to three days on the counter in a paper or cloth bag, or slice it and freeze it the day you get it — it toasts straight from frozen and tastes like the morning it was baked.
What if I can't make my pickup window?
Reply to your confirmation email or send a message on Instagram and we'll sort it out. We hold your loaf through the end of the bake day; after that we can't promise it will still be there.
Can I order more than a few loaves?
Yes, up to whatever is left on that bake day. For a big batch — a party, a class, a church group — email us and we'll plan a day around it.
Where exactly is pickup?
Pickup is in North Phoenix, Arizona. Because this is a home kitchen, the exact address goes out on your confirmation page and in your confirmation email rather than being posted publicly.
How do I pay?
Either pay by card when you order, or choose to pay at pickup and settle up in person when you grab your bread.
